Anaadi Gurukulams
IKS-STEM Focused
Anaadi Gurukulams, started in 2021, are vibrant learning spaces rooted in the timeless wisdom of Bharat while fully aligned with the needs of the contemporary world. Established by the Guru Dampati of Anaadi Foundation, Siddhayogi Adinarayanan and Matrushree Ananthalakshmi, the Gurukulams represent a living ecosystem where learning, culture, values, inquiry, and inner growth come together in a seamless, immersive manner.
At Anaadi Gurukulams, we focus on Panchakoshiya Vikas: nurturing of Annamaya, Pranamaya, Manomaya, Vijnanamyaa and Anandamaya Koshas (Physical, Vital, Emotional, Cognitive, Spiritual-Aesthetic).
The curriculum focuses on IKS - STEM which brings out the scientific and technological aspects of Indian Knowledge Systems.
Vidyarthis study Samskritam, Matrubhasha, Ayurveda, Ganita, Nakshatra Vidya, Yoga, Darshana Shastra, Indic ecology, Itihasa-Purana, Bhugola combined with National Institute of Open Schooling curriculum for certificates.
The AI age presents both challenges and opportunities. The need to learn accumulate information is largely reduced with newer technologies. However, declining cognitive capabilities, ethical confusions, emotional disturbances and declining physical well-being are also possibilities. We need better educational models tuned to the contemporary times and Anaadi Gurukulams present precisely this possibility.

Pañchakośīya Vikās (Five-fold Development) is a holistic educational and developmental framework rooted in the Taittiriya Upanishad, which views the human personality as a layered structure consisting of five sheaths or kośās. Unlike fragmented modern education, this approach aims to nourish every dimension of a child's being: the physical (Annamaya), the vital energy (Prāṇamaya), the mental (Manomaya), the intellectual (Vijñānamaya), and the blissful (Ānandamaya).
By integrating practices such as āsana and āhāra for the body, prāṇāyāma for vitality, sevā and dharmic values for the mind, and the study of traditional knowledge systems for the intellect, the framework ensures a balanced growth.
The ultimate goal of Pañchakośīya Vikās is to move a child from mere information gathering to the realization of their innate potential and inner joy, creating an individual who is physically strong, emotionally stable, and spiritually grounded.
IKS-STEM Paradigm
IKS STEM is word coined by Anaadi Guru Dampati during their international travel to convey that IKS is not merely the study of philosophy or inner knowledge but also deep study of traditional science. IKS STEM represents the sophisticated integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics as developed within the Indian Knowledge Systems over millennia.
Far from being merely historical, it offers a unique epistemological framework where empirical observation is harmonized with a deep understanding of natural laws and consciousness.
In fields like Ganita (Mathematics), Indian scholars pioneered the decimal system, the concept of zero, and complex trigonometry long before their global adoption. Similarly, in Vijnana (Science) and Engineering, IKS provides advanced insights into metallurgy (such as the corrosion-resistant Delhi Iron Pillar), sustainable architecture (Vastu - Shilpa shastra), and ecological conservation.
By approaching STEM through an Indic lens, education moves beyond abstract formulas to a lived experience of "balancing doing and thinking," fostering an inquiry-based mindset that is both technologically advanced and ethically grounded in the welfare of all beings.

Evaluation
In our Gurukula, the Pañchakośa Progress Report serves as a holistic alternative to standard grading, mapping a child's evolution across all five sheaths rather than just intellectual memory. Some of the aspects we look at but not limited to are:
We track the Annamaya through physical vitality, appetite, physical activity, flexibility etc, Prāṇamaya through breath-awareness, energy levels, lung capacity etc, Manomaya through emotional resilience, evā disposition etc, Vijñānamaya through logical inquiry , the application of IKS concepts etc, and Ānandamaya through the child's innate sense of wonder and inner joy. This multidimensional assessment ensures that education remains a journey of self-discovery, highlighting specific areas for growth while celebrating the unique, integrated personality of every student.
