सा विद्या या विमुक्तये | Education is that which liberates
Good education permeates all aspects of life, well beyond the classroom. Our Bharatiya parampara and the Gurukulam system of education integrated values and holistic development as part of the child’s growth, enabling them to navigate the world confidently.
In our interaction with over 5000 members in the education field, we have found keen interest in wanting to build capabilities to be able to provide a value-oriented educational process that is focused on creating excellent students and exemplary humans. An enlightened educator is what the world needs today.
We see the Indian frameworks and perspectives on education as being able to provide these much needed insights. The Bodhi program is created with the aim to revive these holistic approaches and integrate them in today’s modern context. This transformative program is replete with exposure to varied innovative education models, interaction with a diverse group of practitioners, practical tools and strategies. Drawing from India’s heritage, the New Education Policy (NEP 2020) places high importance on creating an educational environment rooted in Indian ethos and culture. It is mentioned in the policy: "India has had a long and illustrious history of holistic education. The aim of education in ancient India was not just the acquisition of knowledge, as preparation for life in this world or for life beyond schooling, but for complete realisation and liberation of the self."
Swami Vivekananda said:
Education is that process by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, and intellect is sharpened, as a result of which one can stand on one’s own feet.
J Krishnamurti said:
Education in the true sense is of helping the individual to be mature and free, to flower greatly in love and goodness. That is what we should be interested in, and not in shaping the child according to some idealistic pattern.
