Upcoming Initiation Date: November 24, 2024 Time: 5.00 am - 6.00 am The founding gurus have initiated more than 200 people into the Vel sadhana across globe which has brought about positive changes in the lives of the practitioners. Vel: Vel is the spearlike weapon weilded by Lord Murugan. When the Devas sought help from Lord Shiva to relieve them from the atrocities of Soorapadmasura, both Shiva and Parvati came together to create their manasaputra Lord Murugan. He grew up to be handsome and intelligent with formidable energy. When it was time for him to go and fight the Asura, Devi Parvati presented her son with the Vel that contained all of her power. Lord Murugan slayed the Asura with this Vel and emerged victorious. The Vel is also worshipped along with the deity. Sadhana means a simple and dedicated practice. How is Vel Sadhana done? 1. Mantra Japa Japa/ chanting is the highest contribution one can offer to the divine. This Vel sadhana requires the practioners to do japa of the Vel mantra at least 108 times (1 japa mala) daily, this would take about 5 minutes. 2. Nitya pooja A six inches brass Vel will be presented to each Sadhaka as an embodiment of Muruga’s protective force. The sadhakas can perform a simple 10 minute pooja to the Vel, at least for the first 48 days from initiation. The pooja can be anything from offering karpoora arthi, flowers or performing abishekam to the Vel, according to your preference. 3. Vegetarian diet It is advised that the sadhakas follow a vegetarian diet. Sadhakas who complete the Puracsharana ( no. of syllables in the mantra × 1 lakh of chants), 10 Lakhs in the current Vel Sadhana, will further be initiated into the Yantra Deeksha. Om Muruga! There is a minimal dakshina to procure and dispatch the vel. The initiation as such is free of cost, a service to the society.
